Our Team

We are a dynamic team of autism specialists, behaviour analysts, psychologists and special educators, all of whom have gained qualifications or training in autism and Applied Behaviour Analysis.  We are also trained in range of autism-specific and educational approaches, including the Picture Exchange Communication System, TEACCH, Social Stories, Relationship Development Intervention and Greenspan's Floortime.  Our team of professionals provide you with collaborative, consistent and continuous support, ensure that all of your autism and education and training needs are met. 


Kimberly Wroblewski
BSc, MSc, BCBA
Founder and Director

Kimberly is a Co-Founder and Director of CEAT.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin, a Master's Degree in Autistic Spectrum Disorders from the Queen's University of Belfast and has completed a post-graduate certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis through the University of North Texas.  She is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.  Kimberly was a pre-school teacher when she was recruited by the Wisconsin Early Autism Project, a Lovaas replication site. From 1995, she went on to implement intervention programmes in America, the UK, Europe, Africa and Canada. She was a director of the London Early Autism Project and a Senior Consultant with the Early Autism Project of Vancouver, Canada.  She co-founded CEAT in October 2003.



Mary Hopton-Smith

Founder and Director

Mary is a Co-Founder and Director of CEAT.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the Open University and a Masters Degree in Autistic Spectrum Disorders from the Queen's University of Belfast.  Mary developed an interest in autism whilst working with adults and adolescent with autism in art, dance and drama projects in North Wales.  She went on to be recruited by the London Early Autism Project (LEAP), an affiliate of the Wisconsin Early Autism Project, a replication site for the research of Dr Ivar Lovaas.  Under the supervision of Dr Glen Sallows, Mary worked as a Senior Consultant with LEAP throughout the UK and the Early Autism Project of Vancouver, Canada.  She co-founded CEAT in October 2003. 
 



Sarah O'Prey
BSc (Hons), MSc, BCBA
Senior Behaviour Analyst

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team.  Sarah is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the Queen's University of Belfast and Master's Degrees in Applied Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Ulster. She also had a foundation level certificate in Art and Design from the University of Ulster - Belfast.  She has been working with children with autism since 1998 as a tutor, lead tutor and consultant and has been a part of the CEAT team since its inception.  Sarah is our Senior Behaviour Analyst.

 



Dr Victoria Coulter
BSc (Hons), PGCE, PhD
Director of Education and Training

Dr Coulter has extensive practical, academic and research experience in the field.  After receiving her first degree in Applied Psychology, Dr Coulter went on to gain her teaching qualification and has worked as a tutor, teacher and learning support teacher in mainstream and special schools throughout all of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. She has made contributions to research on education, nursing, developmental disability and autism through her work with the University of Ulster.  Her work has been published in numerous journals and she has presented world-wide on the teaching of individuals with intellectual disabilities.  Dr Coulter joined CEAT's Team in 2010 as Director of Education and Training.


 

Julianne Bell

Senior Consultant / Behaviour Analyst

Julianne brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team.  Julianne is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Queen's University of Belfast and a Master's Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Ulster - Coleraine.  Julianne has also completed one year of field-work and study under Dr Bill Ahern at the New England Centre for Children in Boston, USA, where she worked in residential, school and day programmes for children and adolescents.  She has been working with children with autism since 1999 as a tutor, lead tutor, consultant and behaviour analyst.  She has been a member of CEAT's team since 2005. 



Evelyn Calvin
BSc (Hons), MSc, BCBA
Consultant / Behaviour Analyst

As a Consultant and Behaviour Analyst, Evelyn provides direct consultation and training to children and families. Evelyn brings extensive experience and expertise to our team.  Evelyn is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology from University of Ulster -Jordanstown and a Master's Degree (Distinction) in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Ulster - Coleraine.   Evelyn has certificates in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Manual Handling, Safety and Personal Care, ABA for Prader-Willi Sydrome and Functional Analysis.     Evelyn has been working with children with autism since 2002, as a tutor, lead tutor, supervisor and consultant in both home and school settings.   



Katherine Yates
BSc (Hons), MSc, BCBA
Consultant / Behaviour Analyst

As a Consultant and Behaviour Analyst, Katherine provides direct consultation and training to children and families. Katherine brings extensive experience to our team.   Katherine is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.  Katherine holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology and a Master's Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Ulster - Coleraine.  Katherine completed one year of field-work and study at the New England Centre for Children in Boston, USA and has presented research on Procedural Integrity and its effect on Learning both nationally and internationally.  She has been a part of CEAT's team since 2004 as a tutor, lead tutor, intern and consultant.   



Damian Rooney
BSc (Hons)
Consultant

As a Consultant, Damian provides intervention and support to children and families.  Damian brings a range of experience to our team.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the Queen's University of Belfast and is currently undergoing a Master's Degree in Autistic Spectrum Disorders.  Damian has further training and certifications in Deaf Awareness, Building Success through Better Behaviour and Behaviour Management.  Damian has worked with children with autism in home, school and community settings since 2004.  Damian's enthusiasm for the teaching of social, academic and self-regulation skills of children with autism makes him a valued member of our team.
