Autism Awareness

Recent reports suggest that the prevalence of autism is increasing at an astounding rate. This once rare diagnosis is now around every corner, and everyone we meet knows someone, who knows someone who is affected by autism. We, as a community, have a responsibility to understand autism and to put in place supports that will help individuals with autism be an active and contributing members.
Our team of trainers have worked exclusively with children with autism and can draw upon their relationships to provide information about how autism affects individuals. We provide an introductory one day course on autism, which provides the participants with:
(1) An introduction to autism
(2) Thinking about autism and the current body of knowledge
(3) Contextualising autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders
(4) Understanding individuals, across the spectrum
(5) Observing the behavioural characteristics of autism
(5) Observing the sensory environment
(6) Exploring useful strategies and approaches to support
