Recent reports suggest that the prevalence of autism is increasing at an astounding rate. This once rare diagnosis is now around every corner, and everyone we meet knows someone, who knows someone who is affected by autism. We, as a community, have a responsibility to understand autism and to put in place supports that will help individuals with autism be an active and contributing members.
Our team of trainers have worked exclusively with children with autism and can draw upon their relationships to provide information about how autism affects individuals. We provide an introductory one day course on autism, which provides the participants with detailed information on the early detection, identification and diagnosis of autism, the characteristics shared by individuals who have this diagnosis and the ways in which we can best support individuals with autism. Establishing a level of Autism Awareness is a valuable endeavor for your team or organisation and can make a world of difference to children with autism and their families.
If you are a community based organisation or group, please see our Community Trainingpage for information on upcoming courses. Alternatively, you can contact us directly to arrange for an individualised Autism Awareness training to be delivered specifically to your group, in a location of your choice. If you are interested in an introductory Autism Awareness course for your school or educational facility, please see our Inset Training Courses page for information on our available Inset Training days.
