The Centre for Early Autism Treatment was started by dedicated clinicians who have experience in education, special education, behaviour analysis and autism. The clinicians moved to Northern Ireland in January 2004 to provide local consultation to home-based treatment programmes. Additionally, they aimed to develop a quality clinical staff base that can meet the need for early intervention in Northern Ireland. The Centre is therefore committed to the ongoing training and supervision of individuals who aim to dedicate themselves to the education and development of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The Centre for Early Autism Treatment was made possible through the funding and support of a parent charity that is dedicated to the early treatment of autism. It is through the commitment and belief of this small group of parents that CEAT is able to offer quality, localized consultation to children and their families. The centre aims to continue this collective and co-operative approach to developing the quality and provision of education for young children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. |
